How Long Must I Die; A Dialogue

How long must I die for? Or better yet, how many times?

Until my relationship with death changes. Until I see death as birth.

Death as birth? That sounds strange.

Well, that’s only because it’s how you’ve always seen it. If you grew up seeing death as birth, how do you think you’d see it now?

Well, what does it matter what we call it? It’s just a label.

Yes but how much meaning and power is in a label? And more than the label, how much power is in the agreed upon meaning that (virtually) every man, woman, and child has come to believe. Mass belief is true power.

“Mass belief is true power.” That sounds important.

It is everything.

Okay, maybe not that important.

It is everything.

Okay, how do you mean?

Dream of a future where everyone believes in loving support for one another, where there is wealth and abundance for all, and the masses are in their bodies practicing heart consciousness every second of every day. That is the norm; imagine that environment. Imagine it un-hacked and un-hijacked. Imagine it as un-draconian. Imagine it as the Garden of Eden with lush vegetation, sustenance from the ground and in the trees, purity of thought, behavior, and action as every member of the human race rises above the matrix trap of polarity, and humanity embodies a unified consciousness of peace and love. Now imagine everyone believes that. What kind of power do you feel that would hold?

But virtually nobody believes that.

Case in point, we do not have that society right now. Thank you for making my point. Reality is how it currently appears because this is, collectively, what people BELIEVE reality to be. Going back to our death discussion, people experience death the way they do because everyone (virtually everyone, though not all cultures view death this way) believes what they believe about death:

  • death is loss

  • death is an ending

  • death is tragic

  • death is lonely

  • death is sad

What is death?

Death is a portal to LIVING! Death is freedom! Death is liberation! Death is a beginning!

Wow, that seems… off. Violently contrarian. Abrasive even.

Thank you.

That wasn’t a complement. People are not going to believe that.

People are welcome to believe what they want. That’s what this is all about, don’t you see? All you have to decide is what YOU believe. Here’s the thing with the current state of humanity: there is a code of conduct you are born into. Labels and words and agreements are already made for you before you pop out of your mother’s womb. You play along… at first because you have to. Once you mature, you continue playing along because

  1. everyone else is playing along too; you risk being an outcast and a loner if you believe anything other than what the masses mutually and unquestionably believe is true… and we know we each yearn for acceptance and inclusion as one of our core needs

  2. it’s just too damn inconvenient not to accept this. One would have to change who they were, what they believe, how they act and interact with the world. Their old identity would have to DIE ;) *hint hint. It’s hard work and it’s painful

  3. you can’t picture what “things” would be or how you would experience the world without labeling it… without giving your opinion. You have not come across an alternate blueprint. Till now

Okay I can sort of get there with this so far.

So the question is how do you turn the tide of the masses? Find comfort in knowing you don’t have to change eveyr single person’s mind.

You don’t? How could this possibly be?

Because they don’t decide for themselves anyway. The “masses” are a (large) group of people that believe what others believe.

So who are these “others”? Who has all the control? All the power? How do non-definitions, non-labeling people gain influence over what the masses think and believe?

It’s not about power. It’s not about influence. It’s about experiencing love.

What is this a soap opera?! Love? Really?

You be doubtful at first. But people BELIEVE strongest not when they see it, taste it, hear it, smell it, touch it… people BELIEVE strongest when they FEEL it.

So everyone needs to love? To feel love?

Everyone needs to die.

Well that’s morbid!

Everyone needs to die to themselves… in order to feel love.

What’s that even mean?

As you eliminate every label placed upon every object and every experience - as you remove the mechanism for qualifying “like and dislike”, along with preferences and judgments - as you remove opinion of anything and everything, you just simply experience. And that is bliss.

It sound boring.

Quite the opposite. Eventually you realize you are not bound by space and time. You are limitless. Think as if you are a Spirit or an Angel. Now think if you have that sort of experience WHILE LIVING IN A BODY HERE ON EARTH! That’s the kind of existence w’re talking about. That’s the kind of reality at stake. This is what the other lying world is covering up. This paradise awaits us as we untangle all that is embedded over top of what’s already there. It’s already there! This reality is already there! It’s already real. It’s already true. It already exists.

Sounds impossible.

All we have to do is die. Be committed to dying. Die every day. Seek death. Embrace it. Embrace pain and remove your label of “pain” itself. Just feel. Fit yourself through the eye of the needle and you experience glimpses along the way.

How so?

Take this dialogue, for example.

What do you mean?

We died a death a few minutes ago, before writing this. That’s how we were able to record this conversation.

How so?

We let a portion of us die. We meditated in stillness and focused on our heart. Our body start writhing in discomfort and extreme objection to inactivity. This was our nervous system recalibrating, expanding. Part of it had to die to expand. We waited and waited. We felt and felt. We allowed the torture. We allowed it to kill a part of us for as long as we could stand it. And when it passed, we began to write.

And here we are.

And here we are. We got a glimpse. Because we allowed a small death to run its course. I can’t tell you how torturous it felt! Oh the agony - I cannot even begin to explain! Until we surrendered. Sunk into it. And then it started getting sweet. Like a birth. And came out the other side.

And here we are?

And here we are.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm
